Andrea donated her kidney to her uncle.  After going through the process and witnessing the difference it made to him, she would donate all over again if she could. She is climbing to help raise awareness of living kidney donation and to be an example of how donating does not mean you have to stop doing any of the things you always did or wanted to do in your life.  She hopes that other people see what we are doing and are inspired to be a donor or help the cause in some way.

Andrea works in business development with Hamilton Lane in Denver, CO. She lives with her husband Bryan and dogs Yoda and Leia.  When she is not climbing mountains she enjoys running, reading, sports, knitting, and volunteering. She donated her kidney on December 2, 2020, at UC Health Denver Anschutz.

“I’m also climbing to honor my recipient, my Uncle Mike. He has been such a fighter for much of his life living with PKD – I am awed by him, by the wonderful person he is and how he has never stopped fighting in the face of adversity.”
