One Kidney Climb 2024

KDA is using this climb to bring awareness to living donation, demonstrate what is possible post-donation, and to launch initiatives which inspire, support and educate people about the experience of living donation.
KDA Kilimanjaro, March 2024 – Kidney Donor Athletes to summit Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania on World Kidney Day, 2024. The climb will take the athletes to nearly 20,000 of elevation over the course of eight days to show the world there are no limits post-donation. This is the third annual KDA One Kidney Climb, and this time 13 amazing kidney donors and one transplant surgeon will push themselves to send a message to all the world:
“The purpose of this climb is to show people around the world that it’s possible to thrive on one kidney,” said Tracey Hulick, founder of Kidney Donor Athletes.
“Something that’s important to all of us is to normalize kidney donations,” Patty Graham, said. “We’re not heroes, we’re normal people. We lead normal lives.”

To promote the gift of life through living donation, 13 kidney donors and one transplant surgeon will represent Kidney Donor Athletes (KDA) and summit Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania! KDA is using this climb to bring awareness to living donation, demonstrate what is possible post-donation, and to launch initiatives which inspire, support and educate people about the experience of living donation. We envision a world where there are enough living donors to meet the needs of all who require a life saving kidney transplant.
