What Are We Doing?
Over 100,000 people are waiting for kidney transplants, and we believe this problem
can be solved.
In collaboration with an Emmy award-winning production company and a public health expert, KDA will launch a strategic social media campaign aimed at increasing the number of living kidney donors. Research indicates that storytelling is a powerful motivator for donors. Our campaign will inspire living kidney donation by sharing compelling stories of those in need, living donors, successful donor-recipient pairs, and advocates for legislative changes to reduce barriers for donors.
How Does It Work?
Our approach addresses two major gaps in the current system for encouraging living kidney donation.
Awareness of Kidney Disease and Living Kidney Donation
There is no national campaign promoting living kidney donation, yet surveys show that personal stories significantly influence people to donate. By sharing more stories nationwide, we aim to build connections and humanize those in need of a kidney transplant.
Support from Awareness to Action
To convert interest into action, we will provide an easy first step: a lead generation form for potential donors to submit their name and email. From there, they’ll receive regular emails with useful information, donor videos, and guidance on the donation process. This approach keeps potential donors engaged and informed until they are ready to complete the intake form.
How Can You Help?
Your donation will fund the production of powerful videos and support resources for those in need of a transplant and to inspire and guide potential living kidney donors. Together, we can increase the number of life-saving kidney transplants.
